A Bit of Adventure Comes To Essex

Bruce Sllifer arrives at the yard with a sense of Adventure.

The old No. 7 unloaded the spars.

Good day for working outside.

Bill Holmes, Bruce Slifer and Harold unload the fore gaff.

Bill Holmes.

Nice job by Bruce Slifer, Bill Holmes, Bill Whitney and HAB.
Yesterday, Harold and a crew of volunteers from the 1926-Essex built schooner Adventure dragged the fore boom, fore gaff and jumbo club out of the Adventure's trailer over at Varian in Gloucester. The spars saw the light of day for the first time in many years and the ride over to Essex seemed quite enjoyable atop Bill Whitney's truck.

The old No. 7 fire truck unloaded the spars in the yard and Bruce Slifer got to work knocking some of the iron work off. It is nice to be working on them and dreaming of what might be in store for the "Old Lady."
